Unique ornaments & curios, inspired by myth, fantasy, folklore and nature, handcrafted from recycled wood. Where possible, handtools are used along with ecofriendly varnish or homemade beeswax/olive oil polish. All wood is sourced responsibly, either as recycled ‘waste’ or as the result of pruning or coppicing. A variety of techniques are employed, including carving, painting and pyrography.
“Jack In The Green” began six years ago, after a long period of unemployment. Between job searches I started making items for the garden and home (Picnic tables, a pergola, Wishing Well, bird table, tea-light holders etc), and people started to say “why don’t you make these to sell?”. So I did! Over the years I have expanded my range of skills and techniques, and was honoured to have my work accepted as art by PAOS.
I sell my work through craft events and exhibitions, and commission enquiries are always welcome.
