I am a self taught metalsmith and I make Copper things.
Originally from New Delhi, India I now live in Stamford with my husband and rescue dogs.
In my home studio and workshop in Stamford, Lincolnshire I work with copper sheet and wire and handcraft Sculptures, Giftware & Jewellery.
During Peterborough Artists Opens studios I will be exhibiting and demonstrating at The Place on St Mary’s Street, Stamford.
A full range of my work will be available to view and buy. I will also be showing some steps of the making process of my decorative pieces and copper jewellery. This may involve a hammer, an anvil and some noise!
Artisan Felter Eve Marshall & Coppersmith Shalini Austin with their collaborative sculptures ‘Seagull and ‘Arthur the Dodo’
For several years I have collaborated with Felt ArtistĀ Eve Marshall and to make sculptures and giftware. As a result of our art collaborations feature often in the work I exhibit.
I also collaborate with my husband who took up palletwood upcycling during the first lockdown in 2020, when he could not go to work. I make components for his pieces and also use pallet wood to mount my wall art pieces and as sculpture base.
