Ann Bellamy’s ‘Don’t You Look Smart’

Ann Bellamy’s new solo exhibition ‘Don’t You Look Smart’ 2023 opens with a busy Private View at Peterborough Museum.

Thursday the 26th October 2023 saw a bustling and fun preview evening held at Peterborough Museum City Gallery to celebrate the opening of the next Ann Bellamy exhibition at the museum following her 2019 solo show there ‘Just Be Normal. Memoirs of a dissenting child.‘ On show is Ann’s characteristic wit and acute sense of humanity exploring ‘best’ clothes and the shifting change in what we wear.

The fun included cardboard pictures with face holes in that can be taken off the wall so you can try on fashion items of clothing as illustrated by Ann in her pop-cartoon style.

Workshops:

Join Ann Bellamy in a discussion about clothing and what our clothes say about us, try on some 1970’s styles and sit back with a cuppa and have a good old natter.

Saturday 18th and 25th November 2-4pm

Feeling Christmassy but with a 1970’s twist, join Ann to make Christmas decorations with a unique 1970’s feel – tea, coffee and mince pies served.
