I work in mixed media to create vibrant paintings which are inspired by Heritage textiles from across the globe. An obsession with embroideries, printed fabrics, portraits and shoes is my starting point, and I use oil paint, gold leaf, handmade paper and canvas to create a rich and varied surface, often glazing the final work in resin for added depth of colour. Trained in Fine Art Printmaking, I am including Lino prints on the theme of textiles, with the inclusion of surface pattern from ceramics mainly from the British Museum collections and the National Trust.
I will usually be working on carving my latest Lino print during the exhibition and will be happy to demonstrate. The small garden is open to enjoy the sunshine!
