Steph Bowden Hughes

I’m Steph, a self-taught potter based just outside Stamford.

My pottery started as a hobby, that turned into an obsession, and is now my job! Each piece is handmade on my potter’s wheel. I work with black, grey and speckled stoneware clay as well as porcelain. I like clean lines and enjoy showing the contrast of the raw unglazed clay with simple glazes.  I have recently started working with willow and love the smoothness of the clay against the rough rustic willow.  Together, clay and willow have taken over, it has all got a bit out of hand, and I couldn’t be happier!

Please come and join me, along with other artists, at Bainton Reading Room. It is a lovely location with easy access.
