Congratulations and well done to Carolyn Cullum from Bourne who won £100 to spend with the artist(s) of her choice in the PAOS 2019 competition.
The competition was open to anyone who visited 8 or more venues during Peterborough Artists’ Open Studios 2019.
Carolyn said she was “surprised and absolutely delighted” when she received the phone call to let her know she had won and quickly decided she wanted to spend her prize money with Alison Parry, Mosaic Artist, for her garden.
Carolyn really enjoyed going around the different venues and always received a warm welcome plus the opportunity to chat with many of the artists to learn more about their crafts. The experience has inspired her to start to focus on her own crafts and, hopefully, take part in PAOS in the future!
Alison, who was selected by Carolyn as her chosen artist to spend her £100 prize money with, said: “I was so pleased when I was told that the competition winner had selected my work to spend her prize money on. It was the icing on the cake after a very successful 2019 Open Studios.”
Carolyn was invited to private viewing of Alison’s work to select her chosen pieces hosted by Alison and PAOS Chair, Jackie Hall.
Jackie Hall, PAOS Chair, said “The competition was a great success again this year and we received more entries than ever before. To qualify to enter into the draw, individuals must visit 8 or more venues which encourages them to plan their journey during the Open Studios weekends to see as many artists as they wish. I would like to congratulate Carolyn for taking part in the competition and thank all of our members for making PAOS 2019 such a great success.”
