Glass is a medium that I find has a wide range of colours that can be combined together in many form.
I have continued to develop kiln carving as a interest, and from this added effects within the carved space. A recently attended course has shown me other avenues to explore.
On the weekend in July I will be in residence at Denise Brown’s studio (Grange Farm, Whittlesey, Benwick, Cambridgeshire PE15 OXU) demonstrating Raku with Christine Withall.
This year I hope to revisit some of my previous ideas that were put onto the back burner last year, plus I hope to explore a couple of newly emerging techniques. Colour remains a main influence to my pieces, with interlocking effects of different glass textures. Weather permitting pit firing and Raku demonstrations will take place using previously bisque fired pieces and will be available for sale if the kiln gods allow!! Also a re-wilded meadow trail at the front of the house where a path has been prepared to view the indigenous plants and insects. Refreshments and cakes will be available, ample free car parking at the venue.

This year I intend to expand the range of glass types and textures in my work. Having had helpful feedback from friends I intend to pursue further glass effects.
