My work is all about the importance and understanding of drawing; I find it difficult to separate myself from the vitality of it and the need to do it, making it a vital foundation of my work and teaching practice. ‘Drawing’ is where it starts in my sketchbooks & what continues to be about which ever medium I choose setting in motion the development of an idea plus a sense of renewal and continuation. I see the collage work as ‘drawing’ with shapes of paper and colour..
My work is held in private and public collections internationally and I was a winner at Mini print International in Cadaquès in 2021/22

The Garden at White Trees
The garden is an important extension of the creativity at
White Trees. Designed by Julie with the assistance of her husband Michael (engineer and philosopher) it is divided into separate small gardens with something to draw the eye at every step. Every year small tweaks are made here and there to keep the ideas fresh as the garden matures.
In 2012 it was approved to open to the public as part of The National Garden Scheme (Yellow Book) and Julie and Michael held a number of successful events over the following years raising a considerable amount of money for the NGS charities. They have continued to develop the garden but now only open it to the public during PAOS and at the same time host ‘A Great British Tea Party’ supporting the NGS charities. Julie bakes a number of homemade sweet and savoury treats for the event including the frequently requested Lavender Cake.
