This year marks a special milestone for Peterborough Artists Open Studios (PAOS) — 25 years of opening studio doors, welcoming visitors into homes, workshops and creative spaces across the PE postcode area. To celebrate, a dedicated exhibition is being held at Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery, bringing together work from across the PAOS community under one roof.
What began as a small gathering of local artists has grown into one of the region’s best-loved creative events, now involving well over a hundred members each year. Painters, sculptors, printmakers, ceramicists, textile artists, jewellers and more have all been part of that story — and this exhibition offers a chance to look back at how far the community has come, as well as forward to what’s next.

The exhibition brings together a wide cross-section of work from PAOS members, offering visitors a taste of the diversity and quality of art being made right across Peterborough and the surrounding area — running alongside this year’s Open Studios trail, which is on now.
For 25 years, PAOS has given local artists a platform to share their work directly with the public — in their own studios, homes and workshops — and given the people of Peterborough a chance to meet the makers behind the art. Marking that milestone with an exhibition at the Museum & Art Gallery, a venue that has itself been part of the city’s story for well over a century, feels like a fitting way to celebrate.
Entry to the exhibition is free, and it’s a great way to get a taste of the talent on show while the Open Studios weekends are in full swing.
